We arrived to our very pretty hotel in Arequipa, Tierra Mistica, just a few blocks from the city's main square after the night bus arrived around 8-9am. Most of the group went for brekky but me chris tara and bec went for naps and then met back up at 11am to go for lunch and a wander. My tummy troubles were getting even worse. We walked up to the main square, past the Santuarious Andinos Museum museum which holds Juanita the famous old well-preserved mummy found on the Ambato Volcano-side(which wasnt on show, but in the lab being worked on
). The square was quite large large and lined with balconies full of loads of restaurants and cafes. We picked a good one upstairs with a great view of the square, and we ended up staying there for 5 hours or so. I enjoyed an Alpaca stroganoff. Quite delicious. Followed by a good apple pie. Once we got back to the hotel my tummy got worse and i didnt go to dinner with some of the group. Alot of us stayed in and played cards (Shithead) for ages. Despite being excited for Arequipa I was quite dissapointed with it. But in saying that i didnt go to see all the sites like the monestary/nunnery, and we didnt have much time there, so maybe i would of liked it better if i had more time there. I liked the actual city in terms of the buildings and streets it had a cool feel. And when the clouds cleared you could see three snow capped volcanoes looming over the city, El Misti, Ambato and Chichina.
